A colloquial internet meme, illustrating a serious Christian point.
One does not simply resist temptation, give up an addiction, or overcome sin. Without passionate dependence on God for strength, courage and resistance. It's a hard lesson to learn, but it's true. Passionate prayer, and repentance is required, if sin and evil is to be overcome. It is only with God's Spirit empowering us, that we can conquer darkness. After all, Lord of the rings was written by a Christian and it illustrates this point- good being ultimately stronger than evil, evil being destroyed in the end. (Yes, I am a big LOTR fan, The Hobbit was amazing!).
EDIT: I would like emphasize this point- I do happen to believe that atheists and other non-Christians are capable of strength and morality, too, of course I do. Buddhists, non-Christian Stoics, Taoists, etcetera overcome evil and addiction all the time, even if they are not Christian. Romans 2:14-15 makes it clear that non-believers are still capable of morality, because of their God-given natural strength and virtue. Even if you do not believe in God, God still works through everything- otherwise nothing would exist! Any natural strength you have, is given you by God. Any virtue you possess, any desire for morality, is from God. But people are never going to be perfect without God, because there are always going to be weaknesses (insecurity, pride, envy, egoism, etcetera) that plague the human mind. Evil exists as the antithesis of God's nature and Glory, and when this plagues the human psyche, people cannot overcome completely without God. Even if you are non-Christian, you can utilize some virtue you already have (that is already from God in the first) to overcome an evil. This is still not doing it on your own, any more than breathing can be done without lungs, regardless of whether or not you believe in them.
